Winter Twilight

(Vertical by Ben Nicholson, 1894-1982, American painter)

Winter has its own illusions.

WINTER TWILIGHT

On a clear winter’s evening
The crescent moon

And the round squirrels’ nest
In the bare oak

Are equal planets.

~ Anne Porter, born 1911, American poet
