New Year's Day

(Elizabeth’s Book, Newton, Connecticut by
André Kertész, 1894-1985, Hungarian-born
photographer)

A haiku.

New Year's Day —
everything is in blossom!
I feel about average.

  1. Perfect, even though where I am there aren't blossoms yet.

  2. I've never attempted to write a haiku - seems very difficult to keep everything within the precise number of words and syllables. I was just reminded though of the recent Jon Muth book that I read "Zen Ties" which also features haiku. :)

  3. That poem has always made me laugh!
