VALENTINE’S DAY
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.

The beginning of this poem is a classic. It reminds of how when we began to learn about poetry in school this was always the 1st thing thought. It amuses me how you can always put your own little twist or variation toward the end. Also it is fun to grow up always bringing back this classic and going through life hearing all these different versions people have created.
I like this poem for many different reasons. I like this poem because the first part is something common and really nice and I feel as though most people will like it. The second part of the poem I think is suppose to make people laugh. I think the picture relates to the poem because it is about the boy and girl in the picture.
I like this poem because it starts with the generic roses are red...and the author gives her own twist to it. This poem is fun because I feel like everyone has heard the start to it so it interest the reader right away to finish it. Well done.
